The mystery of the “open window” on the Piazza Santissima Annunziata is legendary, as I’ve discussed in earlier blogs. The “always open” window is slightly ajar, presumably as a sign of respect for the woman who lived centuries before. That woman, as it was explained to me, could be the Bianca in my book.
Find the window yourselves on Palazzo Grifoni (now Palazzo Budini Gattai), at the intersection of Via dei Servi and Piazza Santissima Annunziata in Florence. Or, you can find it in the exquisite art of Carolyn Brantigan (featured image, and below).
Visit my website and leave a comment, where do you see the open window here, and why? Sign-in and I’ll post responses of our imaginative viewers.
