Last night was an epic event at Diesel books, with alumnae from my alma mater and guests.

But Indie bookstores are struggling, see this New York Times article, discussing how competition from Amazon and rising operational costs cut into sales. And still thousands of stores are managing to do reasonably well through constant innovation, as here.
The Cleveland Review of Books reports that In the United States the Big Five publishers represent sixty percent of all book sales—with forty percent accounted for by independent presses. Still, small publishers are in the news more and more, sweeping the Booker and Nobel prizes.
Please support indie publishers and bookstores by ordering from such a bookstore that took a chance on this author—
Diesel Books. Order online, with shipping as low as $6.00.
